FAIRFAX, VA – Saundra Davis, a long-time Northern Virginia resident and former healthcare administrator, today announced her candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates in District 15. Davis, running as a moderate Republican, is focused on restoring practical, results-driven leadership to Richmond—rejecting partisan extremes in favor of responsible governance that puts people first.
“For too long, politics has been about scoring points instead of solving problems,” said Davis. “I’m running to refocus our government on what truly matters: strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and policies that help working families thrive. I’ll bring an independent voice to Richmond, one that listens, respects both sides, and works toward real solutions.”
Davis’s platform is centered around three core priorities:
Making Fairfax County More Affordable – Repealing the car tax and blocking the proposed Meals Tax to ease the cost of living for families
Improving Education – Raising academic standards, increasing accountability, and ensuring that every tax dollar in our schools is spent wisely
Protecting Public Safety – Backing law enforcement with the resources they need while working to address the underlying causes of crime
Davis holds a degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and master’s degrees in Health Care Administration and Gerontology from the University of Southern California. As a former director in a memory care facility, she brings real-world experience managing budgets, solving complex problems, and making tough decisions with compassion and care.
“My background in healthcare taught me how to make responsible choices under pressure, always putting people first,” Davis said. “That’s the kind of steady, thoughtful leadership I’ll bring to the House of Delegates—focused on solutions, not slogans.”
Davis previously ran for the Fairfax County School Board At-Large, where she was a consistent advocate for transparency, academic excellence, and responsible spending. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped lead grassroots efforts to reopen schools safely and swiftly, prioritizing students’ needs over politics.
